Challenge-based Learning
Experiencing education – not just absorbing
What is Challenge-based Learning?
Challenge-based Learning is a strong initiative that has shown to be extremely successful in the United States.
Students are given a problem or a challenge and asked to develop a possible solution. Challenge-based Learning adopts an experiential approach to education, where students are a part of the experimentation and discovery process, rather than simply absorbing the teacher’s wisdom.
Students use twenty-first century technologies to develop their potential solutions and are supported by teachers to document and develop the story of their solution. Teachers explicitly link the exercises to the curriculum so that students can own their learning journey and be aware of the skills they are developing through the solution process.
